Chesapeake Utilities Corporation celebrated the opening of its second Safety Town training facility in DeBary, Florida, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on February 27, 2025. This state-of-the-art facility is modeled after the company's existing Safety Town in Dover, Delaware. The one-acre center provides hands-on and classroom training for Chesapeake Utilities' Florida operations teams, fostering collaboration with first responders and other community partners. It features specialized learning environments, including simulations for hit line and gas leaks, service hook-ups, utility locating, leak detection, and corrosion monitoring. The facility is equipped with technology-enabled training rooms and multiple training houses designed to present various real-life safety scenarios. To mark the opening, Chesapeake Utilities made a charitable contribution of $10,000 to the Florida Fire Chiefs' Association Foundation, supporting education and scholarships for fire and emergency services professionals.
