Cheniere Energy Partners moved closer to commencing operations at its Corpus Christi Stage 3 expansion project after receiving permission from federal regulators on October 17, 2024. This approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) allows the company to put a supply line into operation. The regulatory clearance enables Cheniere to transport liquefied gas from the new plant to refrigerated liquid storage facilities. From there, the LNG can be loaded onto tankers for export, marking a crucial step in the project's development. The Corpus Christi Stage 3 expansion is projected to produce approximately ten million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquefied natural gas. This significant capacity addition is targeted to achieve its first LNG production by the end of 2024.
