New research from Corebridge Financial, released on August 19, 2025, indicates that Americans with life insurance are significantly more confident in their loved ones' financial ability without them, with 47% expressing high confidence compared to 28% of those without coverage. The study reveals that half of Americans lack life insurance, with cost being the primary barrier for 38% of respondents. The research also points to a significant misperception regarding the actual cost of life insurance, with many Americans overestimating premiums. Corebridge suggests that streamlined processes, such as 24-hour online approval, could encourage more individuals to secure coverage, with 73% of respondents indicating they would be more likely to purchase a policy under such conditions. Corebridge Financial is actively leveraging data-driven practices and automated underwriting capabilities, which enable approximately 80% of newly issued policies to be auto-decisioned as of Q3 2024. This technological edge enhances ease-of-use and speed in securing coverage, positioning Corebridge to address the identified coverage gap and capitalize on market demand for efficient life insurance solutions.
