Cerence announced a partnership with Geely Auto that will see the company’s next‑generation xUI platform integrated into Geely’s vehicles, beginning with the Galaxy M9 slated for launch in April 2026.

The agreement gives Geely access to Cerence’s agentic, multimodal AI assistant, which blends voice, visual inputs and vehicle data to deliver context‑aware interactions. For Cerence, the deal expands its presence in the Chinese market and adds a high‑volume OEM customer, reinforcing the company’s strategy to grow recurring license and subscription revenue.

Cerence’s Q4 FY2025 results provide context for the partnership’s impact. Revenue reached $60.6 million, exceeding guidance of $53–$58 million, while gross margin climbed to 72.6 percent. The company also reduced debt by $87.5 million and generated positive free cash flow for several consecutive quarters, underscoring its improving financial health.

The xUI platform is built on large‑language‑model technology and offers a fully integrated in‑car experience that supports multiple languages and regional dialects. By deploying xUI, Geely can differentiate its vehicles in a crowded market and align with Cerence’s focus on LLM‑powered, agentic AI solutions that drive higher per‑unit pricing and long‑term revenue streams.

Management highlighted the strategic significance of the deal. CEO Brian Krzanich said the partnership marks “a new phase of growth for Cerence AI” and that the xUI platform is “purpose‑built to help automakers deliver better, AI‑powered user experiences.” CFO Tony Rodriguez noted that the shift toward recurring, usage‑based models “strengthens our revenue quality and visibility.” Cerence AI Chief Revenue Officer Christian Mentz added that the collaboration “demonstrates how rapidly these solutions can be brought to market to meet customer expectations.”

The partnership is expected to lift per‑unit pricing for Geely vehicles and create long‑term revenue streams for Cerence as the platform rolls out across the automaker’s product line. The deal also positions Cerence ahead of competitors such as Google and Amazon in the automotive AI space, reinforcing its competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving market.
