Canadian Solar’s subsidiary e‑STORAGE has secured a 411‑MW/1,858‑MWh battery‑storage contract for the Skyview 2 project in Edwardsburgh‑Cardinal, Ontario, under the province’s Long‑Term Reliability (LT1) procurement program. The award, announced on November 12 2025, adds a 1,858‑MWh asset to Canadian Solar’s portfolio and positions the company as a leading provider of integrated solar‑plus‑storage solutions in North America.

The project, developed by Potentia Renewables in partnership with the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation, will see e‑STORAGE deliver roughly 390 SolBank 3.0 units as the turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) provider. Shipments are slated to begin in February 2026, with commercial operation expected in the second quarter of 2027, and a 21‑year service agreement will ensure long‑term performance and reliability.

Colin Parkin, president of e‑STORAGE, said the Skyview 2 contract is the company’s largest SolBank delivery to date and will become one of Canada’s largest battery‑energy‑storage facilities. Ben Greenhouse, CEO of Potentia Renewables, highlighted the project as a milestone for Ontario and the Algonquins, underscoring the partnership’s role in advancing renewable energy in the region.

The contract’s scale and timing reinforce Canadian Solar’s strategy to capture growth in the expanding battery‑storage market. By securing a high‑profile, long‑term project, the company strengthens its backlog, diversifies its revenue streams beyond solar modules, and demonstrates its ability to deliver complex, integrated energy solutions that meet grid reliability needs.

With 1,858 MWh of storage capacity, the Skyview 2 facility ranks among the largest battery projects in Canada, highlighting Canadian Solar’s capacity to deliver large‑scale, high‑capacity storage solutions that support the integration of renewable generation and grid resilience.

The project also reflects broader market trends, as Ontario’s LT1 procurement program continues to drive investment in grid‑stabilizing storage. Canadian Solar’s involvement signals confidence in the province’s policy framework and positions the company to benefit from future storage opportunities across North America.
