CSX Corporation announced on October 22, 2024, that it has reached new five-year tentative collective bargaining agreements with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the National Conference of Firemen & Oilers (NCFO). These agreements are pending ratification by the respective unions' memberships.
In addition to these tentative agreements, CSX confirmed the ratification of a labor agreement with the SMART-TD yardmasters. The terms of these agreements are aligned, providing equivalent packages that include improved wages, health care benefits, and paid time off.
To date, CSX has proactively secured agreements with 13 labor unions, covering nearly 60% of its unionized workforce. CEO Joe Hinrichs emphasized that these agreements represent a significant step forward in strengthening partnerships with union leaders and improving safety, efficiency, and service.
