On 14 October 2025 at 09:30 ET, Sapphire Princess departed Portland, Oregon, after a two‑week drydock that refreshed the 115,875‑ton, 2,670‑guest vessel. The ship’s return to service marks a significant operational milestone for Princess Cruises, a brand of Carnival Corporation & plc. The drydock overhaul introduced two new specialty restaurants: Makoto Ocean, a sushi venue by Chef Makoto Okuwa that replaces the former Internet Café on Deck 7, and Crown Grill, a steakhouse that takes the place of the former Savoy Dining Room on Deck 5. Both venues are priced at $60 per person and are included as specialty dining options for guests who book the Princess Premier package. Sapphire Princess will now sail to Mexico before repositioning for a season of South America/Antarctica cruises, followed by Mediterranean and Northern Europe itineraries in spring and summer 2026. In fall 2026 the ship will operate Canada/New England cruises, and in March 2027 it will join its sister ship Diamond Princess for a historic dual‑ship deployment in Japan that will run through December 2027.
