Cemex announced that its CEO, Fernando A. González, has decided to retire after a career spanning over 35 years with the company. The Cemex Board of Directors has appointed Jaime Muguiro as the new CEO, with these changes becoming effective on April 1, 2025.
This leadership transition is part of a planned succession, ensuring continuity in the company's strategic direction. Mr. González's tenure was marked by significant transformations, including the achievement of an investment-grade rating and the initiation of a progressive dividend program.
In conjunction with the CEO transition, Cemex also announced senior-level organizational changes. Jesus Gonzalez, formerly President of Cemex South, Central America, and the Caribbean, has been appointed President of Cemex USA, while Sergio Menendez, previously President of Cemex Europe, Middle East, and Africa, will assume a new role.
