CoreCivic has entered into contract modifications to add capacity for up to a total of 784 detainees from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This additional capacity will be utilized at its Northeast Ohio Correctional Center, Nevada Southern Detention Center, and Cimarron Correctional Facility.
Additionally, CoreCivic obtained a contract modification specifying that ICE may use up to 252 beds at its Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Mississippi. These modifications enable CoreCivic to provide immediate and long-term solutions for its government partners' growing needs.
The company's CEO, Damon T. Hininger, stated that CoreCivic has an extensive supply of available beds, providing government partners with flexibility to satisfy their needs cost-effectively. This expansion of capacity for ICE is a direct response to anticipated increased demand from federal government partners.
