A large group of inmates at CoreCivic's Trousdale Turner Correctional Center (TTCC) in Hartsville, Tennessee, exited their cells, accessed an inner yard, and engaged in disruptive and confrontational behavior. Inmates destroyed property, compromised security cameras, and set small fires, refusing to comply with staff directives.

During the incident, one correctional officer was assaulted, sustaining minor injuries, and three inmates were treated for minor injuries. CoreCivic staff used chemical agents to regain control, and the inmates were secured by early Monday morning, with no perimeter breaches reported.

The facility is currently on lockdown as CoreCivic and the Tennessee Department of Correction investigate the incident. This event occurs while TTCC is already the subject of an ongoing U.S. Department of Justice investigation into long-standing reports of violence, staffing shortages, and other issues.
