GreenGasUSA and Darling Ingredients Inc. announced on February 18, 2025, the first renewable natural gas (RNG) deliveries from a project located at Darling Ingredients’ rendering facility in Dublin, Georgia. This initiative leverages Darling Ingredients’ on-site wastewater streams to upgrade biogas to pipeline-quality RNG.
The Dublin facility successfully injected RNG into the City of Dublin’s natural gas pipeline, with the gas destined for customers in the voluntary offtake market. This project not only creates a new revenue stream for Darling Ingredients but also contributes to reducing Scope 1 emissions.
This marks the first RNG project to become operational between the two companies, with plans to expand this method of RNG production to other Darling Ingredients facilities based on feasibility and market conditions. The collaboration supports greenhouse gas emission reductions and delivers renewable energy across the U.S.
