Opengear, a subsidiary of Digi International, achieved SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 compliance on December 15, 2025, a fact announced on December 17, 2025. The certification confirms that Opengear’s security practices meet globally recognized standards for security, availability, and confidentiality across its products, systems, and operations.
The achievement builds on Opengear’s existing ISO 9001 certification and extends governance into information security and risk management. The SOC 2 Type 2 audit covered 12 months of operations and was conducted by an independent assessor, covering controls over security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. The audit period ended on December 15, 2025, and the certification was issued on the same day.
For Digi International, the certification aligns with the company’s Q4 2025 financial results, which reported revenue of $114 million, a 9 % year‑over‑year increase, and a gross profit margin of 63.9 %. The compliance initiative supports Digi’s strategy to strengthen security across its IoT and edge portfolio, reinforcing its recurring revenue model and reducing vendor risk for customers in regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare, and government.
Patrick Quirk, President of Opengear, said the certifications “affirm that security is embedded into every part of how Opengear operates. It is not only our products and hardware that meet these standards. Our processes, our systems, and the way we run the business every day reflect a deep commitment to protecting customer environments.” Ramtin Rampour, Senior Product Manager, added that the dual certifications demonstrate that Opengear’s DNA—product, hardware, processes, and accounting—has been built with security in mind.
The certification is expected to lower procurement barriers for Opengear’s customers, streamline compliance workflows, and open new business opportunities in regulated industries. It also positions Opengear as a trusted partner for organizations that require rigorous security controls, potentially accelerating contract renewals and new customer wins in the critical network management market.
