AMCON Distributing Company reported a diluted loss per share of $2.58 for its second fiscal quarter ended March 31, 2025. The company recorded a net loss available to common shareholders of $1.6 million, a significant reversal from net income of $0.5 million in Q2 fiscal 2024.

Consolidated sales for the quarter increased by 2.9% to $619.5 million from $601.9 million in the prior year's quarter. Despite revenue growth, operating income plummeted by 86.2% to $0.5 million from $3.3 million in Q2 fiscal 2024, primarily due to increased operating expenses.

Cash flows from operating activities for the six months ended March 31, 2025, were negative $5.4 million, a substantial decrease from positive $53.8 million in the comparable prior-year period. Management attributed the financial performance to a challenging operating environment, characterized by lagging consumer spending and multi-year inflationary pressures on product costs, labor, employee benefits, equipment, and insurance.
