Digital Realty and SURF Partner to Host First Quantum Computer in the Netherlands

Digital Realty announced a partnership with SURF, the ICT cooperative of Dutch educational and research institutions, to host the first quantum computer in the Netherlands. This pioneering initiative will see the quantum computer located within Digital Realty's AMS17 data center at Science Park in Amsterdam. The quantum computer will be situated alongside the existing national supercomputer Snellius, also housed in Digital Realty's AMS17 facility. Initially, the quantum computer is expected to contain at least 16 physical qubits, which are fundamental to its advanced computational capabilities. This collaboration positions Digital Realty at the forefront of quantum computing infrastructure, demonstrating its ability to provide specialized environments for cutting-edge technologies.
