Digital Realty announced the deployment of new Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute peering locations in Atlanta, Brussels, and Vienna. This expansion enables customers to establish dedicated, high-speed connections from their private IT infrastructure directly to Azure services via a single cross connect.
With these additions, Digital Realty now hosts 15 Azure ExpressRoute cloud on-ramps on its global data center platform, PlatformDIGITAL®. This allows customers to interconnect directly from these locations or utilize ServiceFabric® for virtual access to any Azure region worldwide.
Azure ExpressRoute provides the lowest latency and most secure path to Microsoft's Azure resources, as traffic remains on Microsoft's global network, bypassing the public internet. This capability is crucial for hybrid IT solutions and prepares enterprises for advanced private AI capabilities, strengthening Digital Realty's cloud and AI connectivity offerings.
