Denison Mines Corp. announced on February 27, 2025, that the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) Registrar has scheduled public hearing dates for the Wheeler River Uranium Project. The hearing will be held in two parts, on October 8, 2025, and from December 8 to 12, 2025.
These hearings represent the final step in the federal approval process for the project's Environmental Assessment (EA) and the Licence to Prepare and Construct a Uranium Mine and Mill. This clarity on the schedule significantly reduces uncertainty regarding federal project approvals.
Based on this schedule, Denison expects to commence site preparation and construction activities for the Phoenix In-Situ Recovery (ISR) project in early 2026, with a target of achieving first production by the first half of 2028. This follows key regulatory milestones completed in late 2024, including the acceptance of the final Environmental Impact Statement.
