Denison Mines Corp. announced the filing of a final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for its Wheeler River Uranium Project with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) on November 25, 2024. This submission follows the successful completion of the rigorous technical review phase of the federal Environmental Assessment (EA) approval process.

The final EIS incorporates feedback from multiple interested parties, including Indigenous nations and the CNSC's Federal Indigenous Review Team. The submission was supported by letters of consent from English River First Nation, Kineepik Métis Local #9, and several northern municipalities, demonstrating strong community engagement.

This milestone brings the Wheeler River Project closer to federal regulatory approval, with CNSC staff now reviewing the EIS for acceptance and preparing recommendations for a public hearing. Concurrently, Denison submitted a final EIS to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment in October 2024, aligning federal and provincial processes.
