Denison Mines Corp. secured community consent for its four major uranium projects by signing the Nuhenéné Benefit Agreement with the Ya'thi Néné Land and Resource Office and the seven Athabasca communities of Hatchet Lake, Black Lake, Fond du Lac, Stony Rapids, Uranium City, Wollaston Lake and Camsell Portage.

The agreement gives the communities consent and support for Denison’s Wheeler River, Waterbury Lake, Midwest and McClean Lake projects, removing a key community‑relations hurdle and strengthening the company’s permitting position for the Phoenix ISR mine at Wheeler River, which is slated for production in 2028.

The deal comes as the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission hearings for the Wheeler River Project’s environmental assessment and construction license are set to conclude the week of December 8 2025. Securing community support ahead of these hearings de‑risks the project and positions Denison to move forward with federal approvals.

CEO David Cates said the agreement “marks another significant milestone for Denison and the Wheeler River Project” and highlighted the company’s commitment to building a strong, enduring relationship with the Athabasca communities based on trust and mutual respect.

The Nuhenéné Benefit Agreement is part of Denison’s broader strategy to develop the Athabasca Basin responsibly. By securing community consent for all four major projects, Denison is better positioned to capitalize on the growing global demand for uranium driven by a renewed focus on nuclear energy as a clean‑energy source.

Investors view the agreement as a de‑risking event that supports Denison’s long‑term growth prospects, particularly for the Phoenix ISR mine, and signals the company’s ability to navigate regulatory and community challenges in the Athabasca Basin.
