Dow Inc. announced on January 27, 2025, a collaboration with Brivaplast and TecnoGi to advance circularity within the luxury goods industry. This initiative focuses on reprocessing imperfect perfume caps, made from Dow's SURLYN™ resin, for use in high-end components for luxury footwear and leather goods. The goal is to keep high-quality materials in circulation for longer, thereby reducing manufacturing scrap.
Dow supplies SURLYN™ resin to Brivaplast, a manufacturer of cosmetic packaging, known for its aesthetic qualities and performance in crafting perfume caps. The production of these luxury items often results in substandard pieces due to stringent quality requirements. TecnoGi, a leader in footwear and leather goods components, will reprocess these post-industrial scraps, giving them a new life in different luxury applications.
This cross-value chain collaboration highlights the importance of working together to promote circularity and minimize environmental impact. Dow recently launched SURLYN™ CIR and SURLYN™ REN Ionomers, which incorporate circular and bio-circular feedstocks, further demonstrating its commitment to sustainable material solutions for various industries.
