Dynatrace announced new Service Level Objective (SLO) capabilities that now rely on Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) for all Grail data sources. This enhancement allows customers to build SLOs around a wider range of indicators, including metrics, logs, and business events. The update provides maximum freedom in selecting service-level indicators that are most relevant to a business, moving beyond traditional failure rate or response time metrics. This enables a more holistic picture of system reliability and emerging issues. Dynatrace guides users in setting up valuable SLOs with out-of-the-box templates and guided workflows for common SLIs like service availability and performance. The integration with Grail ensures access to contextually linked information, simplifying the process of defining and tracking critical objectives.
