Ecopetrol S.A. reported robust results for the first half of 2025, achieving its highest semester production in a decade at 751,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd). This strong operational performance was maintained despite volatile crude prices.
The company sustained a healthy EBITDA margin of 40% and realized COP 2.2 trillion in efficiencies during H1 2025, surpassing its semester target by 27%. Ecopetrol also maintained a strong cash position of COP 13.1 trillion and a gross debt-to-EBITDA ratio of 2.4x.
Strategic advancements include the declaration of commercial viability for the Lorito discovery, representing approximately 250 million barrels of recoverable resources, and progress on the Orca project in Brazil, set to incorporate proven reserves in 2025. Ecopetrol's renewable energy self-generation increased nine-fold from five years ago, reaching 630 megawatts by the end of H1 2025.
