EDAP TMS reported total HIFU revenue of EUR 6.2 million (USD 6.5 million) for the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 6.8% compared to Q1 2024. This growth was driven by a record placement of nine Focal One systems, the highest number for any first quarter in the company’s history.
However, total worldwide revenue for the quarter decreased by 9.1% to EUR 13.6 million (USD 14.3 million) compared to Q1 2024. This decline was attributed to the expected reduction in revenue from the company’s non-core businesses (LITHO and Distribution), which generated EUR 7.4 million (USD 7.8 million).
The gross profit margin for Q1 2025 was 42.0%, a slight decrease from 42.8% in Q1 2024 due to product mix changes. The net loss for the quarter was EUR 7.1 million (USD 7.5 million), or EUR (0.19) per share. EDAP reiterated its 2025 financial guidance, projecting 16% to 25% year-over-year revenue growth in its core HIFU business and 20% to 25% revenue declines in its non-core businesses.
