Edible Garden AG has broadened its product portfolio by launching a full line of USDA Organic Certified Pulp refrigerated, fermented gourmet hot sauces that are now available at ShopRite supermarkets throughout the Northeast.
The new products will be carried in ShopRite’s extensive network, which includes stores in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and Maryland and serves millions of customers each year.
The launch is part of a broader strategy to move the company toward higher‑margin consumer packaged goods after a challenging Q2 2025 in which Edible Garden reported a $4.0 million net loss on $3.1 million in revenue, down from $4.3 million a year earlier. The hot sauce line is expected to generate higher margins than the company’s existing produce and poultry mix businesses.
While specific sales figures for the new hot sauce line have not yet been disclosed, management expects the product to contribute to revenue growth and margin expansion. The move aligns with the company’s focus on exiting low‑margin lines and investing in clean‑label, innovative products that appeal to health‑conscious consumers.
CEO Jim Kras said the partnership with ShopRite “builds on our successful partnership and strengthens our presence within the ShopRite network.” He highlighted shared values of freshness, sustainability, and community engagement as key drivers of the collaboration.
The refrigerated, fermented gourmet hot sauce market is growing, and ShopRite’s reputation as the largest supermarket cooperative in the Northeast provides a trusted distribution channel. The launch positions Edible Garden to capture a share of this niche while leveraging its controlled‑environment agriculture expertise.
The company remains focused on improving profitability through higher‑margin product expansion and cost discipline. The hot sauce launch is a key milestone in that strategy, though the company continues to navigate debt‑to‑equity pressures and a distressed Altman Z‑score.
