Southern California Edison (SCE) announced the establishment of a Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program, set to launch in the fall of 2025, for individuals and businesses impacted by the Eaton Fire. This voluntary program aims to provide a streamlined approach for direct payments and swift resolutions to eligible claimants.

The program is designed to cover a wide range of damages, including total and partial structure loss, commercial property loss, business interruption, smoke and ash damage, physical injuries, and fatalities. SCE is collaborating with renowned compensation fund experts, Kenneth R. Feinberg and Camille S. Biros, to consult on the program's design.

Participation in the program will be voluntary, with no application, administrative, or legal fees charged by SCE to claimants. This initiative is expected to operate through 2026, offering an expedited alternative to lengthy litigation and allowing affected community members to focus on recovery.
