The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) announced the official opening of its new BioTech Hub in Olen, Belgium, on December 10, 2024. This facility will exclusively focus on manufacturing cutting-edge bio-based raw materials for ELC's skincare products.
The hub will produce active biomolecules from plant, yeast, and bacteria sources, aiming to advance sustainability across product development and manufacturing processes. Commercial production is set to begin in 2025.
This investment enhances ELC's leadership in fermentation and biomolecule creation, providing business continuity and scaling its biotechnology efforts. The location in Belgium, a biotech leader, also fosters closer partnerships within Europe's innovation ecosystem.
