Eletrobras's Colíder Hydroelectric Plant, Formerly Owned by Copel, Placed Under Alert Status

Eletrobras announced that its Colíder Hydroelectric Power Plant, a 300-megawatt facility, has been placed under an “ALERT” status. This action was taken due to multiple drainage system failures at the plant.

The Colíder plant was previously acquired by Eletrobras from Copel. Copel had completed an asset swap with Eletrobras in Q2 2025, which included the Colider asset and allowed Copel to offset approximately BRL 170 million in tax losses.

This development pertains to an asset no longer owned by Copel. The alert status for the plant highlights potential operational issues for its current owner, Eletrobras.
