On October 2, 2025, Enbridge Inc. announced a series of executive leadership changes that will take effect on January 1, 2026. The company confirmed that Cynthia Hansen, Executive Vice President and President of Gas Transmission, will retire on January 1, 2027, and that Matthew Akman, currently Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy and President of Power, will assume Hansen’s role as Executive Vice President and President of Gas Transmission. Cynthia Hansen has led Enbridge’s Gas Transmission business for several years, overseeing the expansion of the company’s natural‑gas pipeline network and the integration of new acquisitions. Her retirement marks the end of a significant era of growth and operational excellence within the unit, and the transition plan will ensure continuity of leadership and strategic focus as the business moves forward. Matthew Akman’s appointment brings a deep background in corporate strategy and renewable power development to the Gas Transmission division. With experience steering global renewable projects and shaping Enbridge’s power portfolio, Akman is expected to drive further integration of gas transmission assets with the company’s expanding renewable power initiatives, reinforcing the “all‑of‑the‑above” strategy. Allen Capps, formerly Senior Vice President of Commercial, GTM, will become Senior Vice President, Strategy & President of Power. Capps’ prior roles in corporate development and accounting, combined with his experience in commercial operations, position him to accelerate Enbridge’s renewable power growth and strengthen the company’s strategic planning for the Power business unit.
