Enlight Renewable Energy announced on February 26, 2025, that it has signed a 5-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTA Metropolitan Mass Transit System Ltd., a government-owned company developing Tel Aviv's light rail and metro networks. The agreement has an aggregate value of $22 million and includes an option for NTA to significantly increase purchase volumes over the contract's life.

This agreement, made within Israel’s deregulated electricity market, allows NTA to operate its mass transit network using clean energy supplied by Enlight. The partnership is expected to significantly reduce NTA’s electricity costs and contribute to a substantial reduction in annual carbon emissions, equivalent to planting approximately 380,000 new trees per year.

The PPA with NTA follows a series of similar agreements Enlight has secured in recent months with other prominent Israeli entities, including Big Shopping Centers, SodaStream, Applied Materials, Amdocs, and the Weizmann Institute of Science. This demonstrates Enlight's growing presence and leadership in providing clean energy solutions to large consumers in Israel.
