Establishment Labs Holdings Inc. announced that the first patients in the United States have successfully undergone breast augmentation with Motiva Implants. This follows the recent U.S. FDA approval for the Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix and Motiva SmoothSilk Round breast implants.
The company is experiencing high demand for Motiva Implants from both surgeons and patients, with the response at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons annual conference being overwhelming. Establishment Labs has doubled its team of sales representatives to 25 across the U.S. to meet this demand.
Board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. M. Bradley Calobrace and Dr. Caroline A. Glicksman performed the initial surgeries, noting that many patients had been waiting for Motiva approval for years. They emphasized the implants' innovation in enhancing aesthetic outcomes and significantly lowering complication rates compared to other devices.
