Energy Transfer LP announced a positive final investment decision for the construction of the Hugh Brinson Pipeline, previously known as the Warrior Pipeline. This intrastate natural gas pipeline will connect Permian Basin production to key markets and trading hubs. Phase I of the project involves approximately 400 miles of 42-inch pipeline with a capacity of 1.5 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d), extending from Waha to Maypearl, Texas. It is expected to be in service by the end of 2026 and includes the construction of the 42-mile Midland Lateral. The combined cost for Phase I and a potential Phase II, which would add compression to increase capacity to approximately 2.2 Bcf/d, is expected to be around $2.7 billion. The project is supported by long-term, fee-based commitments from investment-grade counterparties, positioning Energy Transfer to serve growing natural gas demand, including from power plants and data centers in Texas.
