Eaton announced a collaboration with AMP IT SA in Switzerland to offer an innovative 'EV Charging-as-a-Service' model integrated with solar and energy storage for building owners. This project aims to optimize the efficiency and system performance of electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) without the complexities of ownership.
The initiative leverages Eaton’s Buildings as a Grid approach combined with AMP IT’s smart charging solutions. It enables the management of renewable and conventional energy requirements within a building, without the need for direct ownership or maintenance of EVCI, energy storage, or solar panels.
This project, which won an award in the Swiss Federal Office of Energy's RechargeAuPoint program, is targeted at scaling EV charging infrastructure in multi-residential, office, industrial, and logistics buildings. Eaton and AMP IT plan to expand this business model to other EMEA countries in the future.
