Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (NYSE: FCX) announced its third‑quarter 2025 results on October 23, 2025. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.50, beating the consensus estimate of $0.41 by 22%. Revenue reached $6.97 billion, up 3.6% above the $6.73 billion forecast and 31% higher than the same quarter a year earlier.

Copper production fell 13% to 912 million pounds from 1.05 billion pounds, and gold output dropped 80,000 ounces, a consequence of a temporary shutdown at the Grasberg mine. Copper prices rose to $4.68 per pound, up from $4.30, supporting higher realized prices for the miner. Net income for the quarter was $674 million, reflecting the impact of the production halt and the benefit of higher metal prices.

The company guided to full‑year copper sales of 3.5 billion pounds, noting that Indonesia will contribute minimally for the year. Freeport will provide additional details on the investigation of the Grasberg incident and its multi‑year outlook during a conference call on November 18. The earnings beat and guidance update represent a material event for investors.
