Freeport-McMoRan provided an update on September 11, 2025, regarding the mud flow incident at its Grasberg Block Cave mine in Indonesia. Expert teams are continuing around-the-clock efforts to locate seven PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) team members whose access routes were blocked.

The wet material, which entered the mine through drawpoints in one of five production blocks, traveled to multiple lower mine levels, including a non-mining service area where the contractors were working. Significant material removal is required to safely access these areas.

Regrettably, as of this update, the seven missing workers have not yet been located. Mining operations in the Grasberg minerals district remain temporarily suspended to prioritize the search and rescue efforts, and PTFI is evaluating the incident's impacts on future production plans.
