FMC Corporation announced the successful manufacturing of its first commercial batch of Dodhylex active (tetflupyrolimet), a new mode of action herbicide. This milestone marks the transition of the molecule from development to commercialization, validating FMC's manufacturing capabilities. Dodhylex active is a pre-emergence and early post-emergence herbicide with broad utility in rice globally.
This achievement moves FMC closer to delivering this breakthrough molecule to market, with first full product launches anticipated in 2026. Regulatory dossiers have been submitted in multiple key rice-producing markets, including India, Brazil, the United States, the Philippines, Colombia, South Korea, Peru, Taiwan, Japan, and Malaysia, covering approximately 35% of global planted rice hectares.
Dodhylex active is the first and only herbicide classified as a Group 28 herbicide by HRAC and WSSA, offering a novel solution for managing resistant grass weeds. Beyond rice, FMC is exploring its use in other crops such as soybean, sunflower, sugarcane, and corn, indicating significant market potential.
