FMC Corporation announced regulatory approval for Keenali herbicide, powered by Dodhylex active (tetflupyrolimet), in Peru. This represents the first active ingredient and commercial product registration globally for this breakthrough herbicide technology. Dodhylex active is the first and only herbicide classified as a Group 28 herbicide by HRAC and WSSA in over three decades.
Keenali herbicide is a pre- and early post-emergence herbicide offering excellent crop safety and broad utility in Japonica and Indica rice. It provides Peruvian rice growers an effective solution for managing yield-reducing and resistant grass weeds, including barnyardgrass and saramollagrass, without compromising crop safety. Keenali herbicide is expected to be commercially available in Peru in August.
Peru is an important market as one of Latin America's fastest-growing rice producers. This approval unlocks access to nearly 10% of the over 4.5 million planted hectares of rice across Latin America, demonstrating significant regional market potential. FMC has also submitted regulatory applications for Dodhylex active in other Latin American countries, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United States.
