September 18, 2025
FMC Corporation announced the appointment of Sara Velazquez Ponessa as executive vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary, effective June 1, 2025. Ponessa will succeed Michael F. Reilly, who is retiring on July 1, 2025, after 23 years with the company. Reilly's leadership was instrumental in FMC's transformation into a focused agricultural sciences company. Ponessa brings extensive experience to her new role, having previously served as senior business counsel at FMC from 2012 to 2018. She also served as the first general counsel and secretary of Livent Corporation, leading legal aspects of its 2018 IPO and 2019 spinoff from FMC. Most recently, she was vice president, general counsel, and secretary at Arcadium Lithium plc. Pierre Brondeau, FMC Chairman and CEO, highlighted Ponessa's unique perspective and deep understanding of the business, along with her proven ability to navigate complex legal and business challenges. Reilly will support Ponessa in her transition starting April 28. The content on BeyondSPX is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as financial or investment advice.
