FMC Corporation announced an agreement with Bayer to commercialize products containing Isoflex active in the European Union (EU) and Great Britain. This partnership aims to expand access to FMC's breakthrough weed control technology, providing European growers with a new solution for resistant grass weeds in cereals and other crops. Isoflex active is classified as a Group 13 herbicide.
Isoflex active received registration in Great Britain in 2024, with EU registration anticipated in 2025, pending regulatory decisions. The novel herbicide offers lasting control of key grass weeds, including those resistant to other herbicides, addressing a critical need in European agriculture. This agreement will allow FMC to reach new growers and distributors across an estimated 30 million planted hectares of winter cereals.
Under the terms, both companies will bring Isoflex active products to winter cereals and oilseed rape markets. FMC will commercialize its own formulations, while Bayer will submit registrations and commercialize mixtures containing Isoflex active and distribute an FMC-developed formulation for oilseed rape. Product launches are anticipated in Great Britain later this year and in the EU in 2027.
