Frontdoor, Inc. announced on March 4, 2025, the launch of an innovative new benefit for its American Home Shield brand: video chat with an Expert. Members of select AHS plans can now connect live with experienced former contractors through the AHS app for home repair or maintenance issues.
This new feature, available at no additional cost, allows experts to provide real-time guidance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance problems. Since its launch on February 27, nearly 20% of video chats have resulted in problem resolution over the phone or provided sufficient information for self-repair.
The experts, averaging 19 years of experience, are available nationwide seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern time. This service enhances customer convenience and offers a quantifiable reduction in the need for physical service visits, saving time and money for members.
