Gauzy Ltd. announced on January 9, 2025, the unveiling of its new black Suspended Particle Device (SPD) Smart Glass technology at CES 2025. This marks Gauzy's first SPD product with a distinguishable black appearance, developed to meet strong demand from the automotive, aeronautics, and architecture industries for a dark, neutral-colored dimmable glass.

The new black SPD product is designed to offer the same performance as existing SPD products, including instant transitions from clear to opaque, blocking over 99% of visible light, and reducing energy consumption. This innovation is expected to broaden the adoption of smart glass by accommodating diverse design preferences.

The SPD Smart Glass market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 9.9% from 2024-2031, reaching $13.4 billion in value by the end of 2031. Gauzy also showcased its new Solar Powered LCG® technology at CES, which integrates transparent solar cells with smart glass to harvest energy, further enhancing sustainability and energy efficiency.
