On June 3, 2025, GE Aerospace announced a formal teaming agreement with Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. to advance propulsion technologies for next-generation affordable unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA-type) aircraft.
This agreement expands on a previous Memorandum of Understanding and provides a framework for the two companies to develop, manufacture, test, and field the GEK800 Engine. They will also collaborate on another new engine, the GEK1500, supporting a range of next-generation defense applications.
Kratos brings over 20 years of experience in developing small, cost-effective engines for UAS, drones, and missile platforms, while GE Aerospace contributes a century of propulsion technology expertise and the ability to scale advanced designs into high-rate production. This partnership aims to offer affordable mass propulsion solutions for the Department of Defense.
