On June 4, 2025, GE Aerospace announced significant investments in its test infrastructure at sites in Evendale, Ohio, Bohemia, New York, and Niskayuna, New York. These upgrades are designed to accelerate the development of next-generation hypersonic propulsion systems.

The enhancements will enable the company to conduct higher-Mach, mission-relevant testing at a scale not previously possible, simulating actual flight conditions more accurately. This builds on GE Aerospace's successful development and testing of a hypersonic dual-mode ramjet.

Mark Rettig, vice president & general manager of Edison Works Advanced Programs at GE Aerospace, stated that this investment significantly accelerates the company's ability to meet future hypersonic propulsion needs. It demonstrates GE Aerospace's capacity to deliver advanced technologies faster and more efficiently for its customers.
