GE HealthCare has secured a multi‑year contract to deliver more than 300 advanced computed tomography (CT) scanners to public hospitals in all 38 provinces of Indonesia, with installations scheduled to be completed by 2028. The deal is part of the government’s Strengthening Indonesia’s Health Referral Network (SIHREN) program, which aims to improve diagnostic capacity for the country’s 280 million residents.
The contract underscores GE HealthCare’s focus on emerging markets and its long‑standing presence in Indonesia. The company already operates a CT scanner manufacturing facility in Bogor and a Regional Innovation & Training Experience (RITE) hub in Jakarta, positioning it to support local production, training, and maintenance for the new scanners. This partnership aligns with GE HealthCare’s strategy to grow its imaging portfolio in high‑growth regions and to deepen its commitment to local value chains.
The deployment of these scanners will expand access to high‑performance imaging in both remote and urban settings, enhancing early detection of non‑communicable diseases, improving maternal health outcomes, and strengthening pandemic resilience for the nation’s population. By equipping public hospitals with state‑of‑the‑art CT technology, the program is expected to reduce diagnostic delays and improve treatment planning across Indonesia’s healthcare system.
Indonesia’s CT scanner market is projected to grow from USD 5.2 billion in 2025 to USD 8.9 billion by 2031, a CAGR of 9.1%. The country’s largest healthcare infrastructure investment, SIHREN is a key driver of this growth, positioning GE HealthCare against competitors such as Siemens Healthineers, Canon Medical Systems, and NeuroLogica. The deal therefore strengthens GE HealthCare’s competitive stance in a rapidly expanding market.
Elie Chaillot, President & CEO of GE HealthCare International, said the partnership “demonstrates our commitment to Indonesia’s healthcare resilience and local economic growth, ensuring advanced diagnostic technologies reach rural and remote communities.” Peter Arduini, GE HealthCare President and CEO, added that the company’s “robust orders and focus on innovation” will continue to drive growth across all segments.”
