Norton, a Cyber Safety brand of Gen Digital Inc., launched AI-powered deepfake protection within the Norton Genie AI Assistant on its Norton 360 mobile apps. Currently in an early access phase, this feature enables users to defend against malicious AI-generated audio and video content.

The new protection analyzes both audio and visual content for signs of manipulation, detecting AI-generated voices and subtle inconsistencies in physical features within videos. If a harmful deepfake is identified, the Genie AI Assistant provides conversational Cyber Safety guidance and recommendations for next steps.

Initially available on select Microsoft Copilot+ PCs, this mobile expansion ensures broader access to advanced deepfake defense. The early access version supports English-language YouTube videos and is available in the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand on Android and iOS devices, with desktop support planned for future updates.
