Geospace Technologies Corporation announced its first major sale of the Pioneer™ ultralight seismic land node to Dawson Geophysical Company. The contract is valued at approximately $24 million, representing a significant customer win for Geospace's Energy Solutions segment.
The Pioneer™ is an ultralight, single-component, autonomous land wireless seismic data acquisition solution, weighing less than 0.5kg. It is designed for extended-duration land-based seismic data acquisition, capable of continuous recording for up to 50 days.
Delivery of the Pioneer™ system to Dawson Geophysical is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of calendar year 2025. This investment is expected to provide Dawson with a competitive advantage for large, high-resolution, high-channel count surveys.
Rich Kelley, President and CEO of Geospace Technologies, highlighted that the Pioneer maintains the required data quality while reducing size and weight, leading to improved operational efficiency for customers. The device is engineered with a proprietary 5Hz geophone for enhanced image quality and is manufactured in the USA.
