CGI Federal Inc. announced the successful deployment of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Integrated Financial and Acquisition Management System (iFAMS) to the Loan Guaranty Program and the first group of Veterans Health Administration (VHA) users. These deployments represent waves 7 and 8 of VA's implementation of one of the largest financial and procurement systems within the federal government. iFAMS is built on CGI's Momentum Enterprise Suite, a modern solution designed to standardize, streamline, automate, and transform VA's financial and acquisition processes.
When fully implemented, iFAMS will replace five legacy systems currently maintained by the VA across various technology platforms, providing a unified solution that enhances service delivery, efficiency, transparency, and audit readiness. CGI serves as both the solution provider and implementation partner, architecting the solution to maximize the use of Momentum and its COTS technologies, thereby reducing the total cost of ownership. The system has already processed over 11 million transactions and US$18 billion in Treasury disbursements, supporting US$39.9 billion in contracting dollars.
CGI continues to advance the Momentum Enterprise Suite by incorporating AI to further automate business processes and increasing the use of open-source technologies to lower costs, improve cyber posture, and enhance system performance. This results in an agile VA capable of adapting quickly to changing environments and requirements. The successful deployment increases the transparency, accuracy, and reliability of financial and acquisition information, enhancing data-driven decision-making for those serving veterans and improving fiscal accountability to taxpayers.
