The Volkswagen Group and CGI announced a deepened global collaboration, strengthening Volkswagen's long-term capabilities to expand its IT infrastructure. As part of this effort, both partners have launched MARV1N, a new entity that will act as an international development unit for Group-wide digitalization projects. MARV1N will support Volkswagen's developers, aiming to develop new IT systems faster and more efficiently.

Volkswagen Group plans to modernize its IT system landscape by 2026, replacing hundreds of legacy systems with fewer, more powerful, and scalable new developments across the Group. This initiative is expected to enable faster processes and significantly reduce IT-related operating costs. MARV1N, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CGI Germany, will dedicate its software expertise exclusively to projects within the Volkswagen Group, initially focusing on Technical Development.

This strategic partnership will accelerate data-driven function development for new vehicle projects, such as designing a cross-company IT system to consolidate data related to electrical/electronic architecture and software functions. This long-term engagement reinforces CGI's strong relationship with Volkswagen and positions it as a key partner in the automotive industry's digital transformation, bringing CGI's global capabilities and technology innovation to a major client.
