Genasys Inc. announced on November 1, 2024, that it has been awarded a four-year contract by the Maui Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). This agreement will provide Genasys EVAC and TRAFFIC AI by Ladris solutions for the island of Maui. The deployment of these systems is expected to commence in January 2025.

The contract is a significant step for public safety and emergency management on Maui, an island that experienced devastating wildfires in August 2023. Maui County Mayor Richard Bissen stated that these advanced planning and communication tools will allow for more effective responses to future emergencies, including data-driven evacuation decisions.

Genasys EVAC, part of the Genasys Protect platform, uses intelligent zones for rapid identification of areas and optimized evacuation plans. TRAFFIC AI by Ladris complements EVAC by providing real-time traffic data and analytics, enabling more effective coordination of evacuations and ensuring clear routes for residents and visitors.
