Genasys Inc. announced on May 8, 2025, a partnership with ShakeAlert to integrate Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) into its Protective Communications platform. This collaboration operates under a licensed operator agreement with the ShakeAlert EEW System, managed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The ShakeAlert system rapidly detects significant earthquakes and estimates expected shaking, issuing ShakeAlert Messages to licensed operators. Genasys will deliver these alerts through its outdoor ACOUSTICS systems, providing several seconds of warning before strong shaking begins, which is critical for protective action and saving lives.

This integration is a vital addition to Genasys' platform, enhancing its comprehensive portfolio of preparedness and response solutions. It complements existing partnerships with FEMA's IPAWS, the National Weather Service for flood warnings, ESRI's ArcGIS for disaster mapping, FloodMapp for flood preparedness, and AlertWildfire's fire detection camera network.
