Genasys Inc. announced on March 27, 2025, that it has received domestic and international LRAD orders totaling $1.0 million for critical infrastructure protection. These orders include deployments at oil and gas facilities in Australia and Canada, as well as certain electrical substations of a major U.S. utility.
Richard Danforth, CEO of Genasys, highlighted that the company's next-generation LRAD 950NXT systems address all six physical security actions established by the North American Energy Reliability Corporation (NERC). These actions include detect, assess, communicate, respond, delay, and deter, which are crucial for safeguarding vital electrical transmission and distribution assets.
This marks the second regional utility to install remotely operated LRAD systems for electrical substation security. LRAD systems are already protecting dams, nuclear facilities, data centers, and other critical infrastructure sites globally, demonstrating their versatility and effectiveness in enhancing physical security networks by providing a remote first response capability.
