Genasys Inc. announced on September 29, 2025, a $9.0 million Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) order from the U.S. Army for the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Stations (CROWS) program. This order marks the first Acoustic Hailing Device (AHD) production order for CROWS.

The LRAD systems will be integrated into existing weapon stations under the CROWS II Technical Refresh program, managed by the U.S. Army. This follows the successful design, test, and qualification of the LRAD-450XL-RT in 2024, specifically designed to meet all AHD CROWS requirements.

Richard Danforth, CEO of Genasys, stated that integrating LRAD 450XL-RTs into CROWS II provides operators with the ability to communicate to threats before engaging with lethal force. This capability can de-escalate dangerous situations, reduce non-combatant casualties, enhance operator safety, and increase combat effectiveness, with Genasys expecting revenue from the CROWS program for years to come.
